Let’s be honest — if you’ve ever had work done on your home, you probably know the difference between a job done right and a total disaster. I’ve seen both ends of the spectrum. One time, years ago, I hired a guy off a local Facebook group to sort out a leaking roof. Sounded like a top bloke over the phone, even turned up early on the day. Fast-forward a week and the roof was leaking worse than before. He’d patched it with silicone sealant and hope. £500 down the drain and I was back to square one — this time with a slightly smug neighbour reminding me she told me to get a proper roofer in the first place.
